Family and Services
The sacred Ashrafia household associated with the saintly order of 8th century's (Hijri) great Sufi saint Hadrat Syed Ashraf Jahangir Samnani (may Allah shower His mercy upon him). More than seven hundred years have passed since a sincere work is being done on the enhancement of spiritual and moral services at the national and international level for the great cause of humanity. For ages, the illustrious personalities of this family of Ahl-e-Bait (Descendants of the Prophet) have shown the righteous path and guided to the misguided lot of mankind, transcending the colour & race, caste & country. Hadrat Syed Ashraf was the king of Samnan, (which is a province in Tehran situated at the Mashad High way) He forsook the worldly splendour and grandeur and devoted his whole life in the path of the Hereafter. His whole life is filled with constant struggle. He strived for the preservation and revival of the ethics of Muhammad, service to the mankind, respect of humanity and for the glorious spiritual and moral heritage of Islam. 

He populated “Rooh Abad” Kichhauchha Sharif, which later became the spiritual centre for the thirsty seekers of mystic knowledge and for the devotees of Shari'at and Tariqat (divine law and mystic way of life) of eighth century Hijri (H). He born in 707 (H) and died in 808 (Hijri) but his protégée; his sister's son and successor Hadrat Makhdoom-ul-Afaq Syyedina Abdur Razzaq Noorul 'Ain (May Allah shower His mercy upon him) showered the spiritual blessings for the benefits of the restless souls. And this spiritual saintly order family (Ashrafiya), by undergoing constant trail and continuous endeavour has lighted up the world by holding the torch of knowledge aloft, by preaching the righteous ways since seven centuries. Alhamdu Lillah (Allah be praised)! This spiritual journey from Kichhauchha Sharif (U.P. India) has been continued till date. His Eminence Hadrat Allama Syed Muhammad Jilani Ashraf belongs to this sacred family of Ashrafiya. He was born on 4th July, 1946 in Kichhauchha. His Father was Majzoob-e-Ilahi, Hadrat Sayyed Muhaamid Ashraf (Great Sufi who lost in divine meditation). His grand father was one of the greatest Muhaddis Azam-e-Hind (R.A.). He is 18th Descendant to Hadrat Syed Abdul Razzaq Noorul 'Ain (R.A.) and 28th Descendant to Hadrat Ghaus Pak Syyed Abdul Qadir Jilani of Baghdad (R.A.), 38th Descendant to Syyedatunnisa Fatima-tuz-Zohra (R.A.) & 39th Descendant to Huzoor Syyedina Muhammad Rasulullah (peace be upon him). 

His Eminence was granted permission for Bai'at-o-Iradat (Administering oath of allegiance) by Makhdoom-ul-Mashaikh Syyedina Mukhtar Ashraf, Sajjada Nasheen Sarkar Kalan (R.A), Kichhauchha Sharif. By the grace of Allah, His Eminence has a long train of disciples in every nook and corner of the world. 
His Eminence has five daughters: two of them are married & settled in UK, one is in Karachi and rest two are married & settled in Lucknow. He also have three able sons: namely Syed Muhammad Yazdani Ashraf (Studying in Leceister in UK) and Syed Muhammad Husaini Ashraf (Graduated from Hijaz Collage in UK) and third one Syed Muhammad Samnani Ashraf (is in Jamia Sufiya) and a pious wife (Pirani Maa). May Allah keep their blessed shadow on us for a long time. Ameen! 
His Eminence established Spiritual Foundation in 1992 so that work on spirituality, humanity and morality could be done in an organized way through Sufism to spread the message of love and peace through its (SF) global network, spiritual and educational centres have also been set up not only in India but also in many countries of the world, including: India, England, France, Portugal, Canada, America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland, Middle East and South Asian countries in order to carry out the work on spiritual and moral teaching & training which have proved encouraging & positive results. His Eminence Hadrat Allama Syed Jilani Ashraf has also established Jamia Sufiya; a first modern educational and training institute for the revival and preservation of the teachings of Sufism in an organised way at Dargah Kichhauchha U.P. INDIA. Alhamdu Lillah! (Allah be praised) Jamia Sufiya is running under the management of Spiritual Foundation.

His Eminence has also established a great publishing institute known as Spiritual Publications at New Delhi India, where a healthy literature and books on spiritualism, Sufism and ethics in national and international languages are published. Besides this he has also compiled an Encyclopedia of Tasawwuf (Sufism) in 7 volumes containing more than 7000 pages. It has been published in several languages. 
Despite rendering countless number of services His Eminence passionately believes that services of spiritual foundation, is only our sincere efforts. Effort is only our part and we are helpless except doing it. If our effort seems to be bearing fruits then it is the bounty of Allah. 
Let us pray to Allah that in the era of turmoil & tumult and the dearth of righteous & pious men, the shadow of His Eminence remains on us for a long long time. And may Allah give us courage to play our role in the cause and mission of Sufism. Ameen!
